Food waste

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-26038300

The government has introduced a new law which states that homes get fined if they waste food
Each business and household has to put all waste food into a seperate bag
The amount of the fine depends on the weight of the food you waste

You can decide to be one of the following:
1.  A restuarant owner/manager
2.  A member of a large family
3.  Someone in a large flat/house share

Your business/household always seems to throw away alot of food and are concerned about the new law.
You telephone the local council to find out more.
In the call you should tell them the reason you are calling
You should ask to talk to someone who knows about the new law
You ask them to explain the following things:
a. how the council will measure the weight and how often
b. what the cost of the fines will be
c. what types of food will the law affect
d. what the council is doing to stop supermarkets trying to get customers to but more than they need
e. if they gave a website or leaflet explaining all this information (and ask for the address or to get them to send you a leaflet
Let them know what you personally feel about the new law, and how if will affect your family
